As Manager of School Design, Shantel combines her nonprofit experience, passion for positive youth development, and program design skills to support staff and partners as they work to transform educational opportunities for students.
Prior to joining Springpoint, she worked with several major universities, including Harvard University, the University of Virginia, and the University of Rochester, to conduct research on education reform policies in urban public schools. Shortly after, Shantel developed and implemented student-centered college and career readiness after-school programs and service learning projects for middle and high school students in New York City. These programs addressed students’ concerns and captivated their interests and needs while emphasizing life skills, academic success, and civic engagement. Most recently, as a Manager of Enrollment at Success Academy Charter Schools, Shantel increased families’ awareness and knowledge of school choice in Queens through parent engagement and outreach events in the community.
She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Hampton University and a Master of Science in Education Policy from the University of Rochester.
